Must be legal entities with a presence in Zambia. Registrations are made at the third level beneath established sub-domains; registered ISPs can register at the second level, although there are some unexplained exceptions to this rule.

Trademarks are assigned through the Patents and Companies Registration Office (PACRO), Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry. Zambia is a member of the Madrid Protocol. A trademark is valid for 10 years and may be renewed for further periods of 10 years each.
